During her time at university, Amanda worked for 3 years with individuals with autism and challenging behaviour. Amanda has four years’ experience working as an Occupational Therapist in Health & Social care within the community. During this time, she worked with individuals from the age of sixteen with a wide range of conditions including neurological disorders, learning disabilities and mental health problems. She has carried out voluntary work in a School and Development Project in Uganda, helping to improve the quality of life for the local children.

Amanda moved to Dubai in 2013 where she worked for 2 years in an Early Intervention Nursery for children with various disabilities including developmental delays, autism, learning disabilities, sensory processing disorders and handwriting difficulties. Providing comprehensive evaluations through standardised and non-standardised assessments, Amanda aims to use occupation and activity as an effective means of treatment, promoting independence and improving quality of life across all ages.

Passionate about working with children, Amanda has continued her professional development becoming a certified Sensory Integration Therapist after completing the 4 levels of the Comprehensive Sensory Integration Program from the University of Southern California, USA, in 2016.
Following this Amanda was keen to further enhance her sensory integration practise and completed ‘Astronaut Training: A Sound Activated Vestibular-Visual Protocol’ in 2017 and the ‘Therapeutic Listening Program’ in 2018 through VitalLinks. This has enabled her to provide a deeper level of support to children with difficulties in auditory processing and their families.
In her spare time Amanda enjoys travelling to new places, exploring mindfulness practises, walking in nature, dancing, meditation and yoga. Feeling the many benefits of yoga she decided to embark on a 95 hour Kids Yoga Teacher Training through Let’s Go Yoga becoming certified in 2019. This has enabled her to incorporate these practises within her therapy sessions promoting greater enhancement of a child’s physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
